Follow This Quick Recipe for a Simple Advertisement Webpage

Not everyone needs a full blown website. What if you just wanted a simple advertisement webpage? Or one webpage that displayed your family tree for your family to see from anywhere with Internet access? What if you were selling a home and simply wanted images of your house on one webpage? Or a collection of links you have compiled?

With the technological advances today you can put up Advertisement WebPages compiling songs, videos, images, links, articles, reviews and pretty much anything else that you can think of. This quick recipe is geared specifically for you if you are interested in putting up a one page website to display a collection of images for whatever your purpose may be.

Whether you want a one page stand alone website or just a webpage full of your image collection as part of a bigger website, the first step is to gather a collection of your images. You can use one of the many image editing software available in the market to enhance your images before uploading them online. Some suggestions are Microsoft Paint and my personal favorite Adobe Photoshop.

MS Paint is a free program available with the Microsoft Office Package. If you have MS Office, simply follow this route to get to MS Paint: Start --> All Programs --> Accessories --> Paint.

The idea is to compile the images in smaller sizes or thumbnail format so that your webpage visitors can view them as small boxes on which they can click to enlarge the image. Alternatively you may decide that you want to display your images in full size, which you can also do. You have the full flexibility to decide how your images look and where you place them on the webpage.

You might ask why not just use one of the many free photo manager software available in the market? Well you can, but not everyone wants to rely on another provider to host their images. If you want to use a free service site however, consider the options below:

These services are typically used to upload pictures from certain events that you might want your friends to see for example. Or from a family function so that relatives far away can access them with Internet. Some of these free photo sharing sites have open source plug-in codes available that can be used to integrate their services to your existing website. For example you can use a plug-in called FAlbum to integrate Flickr with WordPress. FAlbum uses the Flickr API to display the pictures onto your website. There is a lot of flexibility and the choice is yours.

If you have Adobe Photoshop or decide to purchase a copy, you will get a built in component that allows you to quickly compile a picture gallery using Photoshop’s Photo Web Gallery feature. You can find this feature under the File Menu --> Automate --> Photo Web Gallery. Simply select the location where you have your images stored and create a source folder within the program. Photoshop has detailed step by step instructions that will provide you with the options to set up your picture gallery.

Bharat Mediratta’s The Gallery Project is one of my favorite resources out there for building an advertisement webpage or simply any image galleries. Gallery is an open source web based photo album organizer that you can access free of charge. Because it is open source it allows you to make modifications to the code to customize the program further to your preference and easily incorporate it into your own website.

Gallery is also compatible with the new Eye-Fi Wireless Card, a small memory card that enables digital cameras to easily upload pictures directly from your digital camera to one of many photo publishing services through wireless technology. You can also directly upload to your personal computer, printer and Blog. Other big names supported by the Eye-Fi Wireless Card are Facebook , Easyshare, Picasa and Flickr.

I hope one of the options discussed here works for you whether you want a single advertisement webpage or any other purpose involving a collection of images on your website.
