Optimizing Website for Search
Organic Exposure vs. Paid Exposure
Optimizing website for search can be a very challenging task. This section clarifies just one nuance involved in optimizing your website; it explains the difference between optimizing website content to achieve organic exposure and paying search engines for paid exposure.
Organic Exposure
Organic search engine ranking refers to your website’s non-paid “natural” rank. In the most basic terms it is effectiveness of your website’s ability to get noticed by applying search engine optimization and non-paid online marketing strategies. Organic results take time to build and are long-term results of ongoing search engine optimization and marketing. It is by far the best website traffic generator strategy.
High organic rankings are best achieved through optimizing website content. Search engine robots travel websites frequently. When you populate your webpage with high demand website keywords, the search engines robots pick up on certain keywords and rank your website in searches performed around the specific website keywords that your site contains.
Many choose to hire professional website optimizing services because they don’t know how to do it themselves or are overwhelmed by the information they are provided with. However, optimizing a website is not very difficult. It will take you time. But like I said, there is no better website traffic generator than free organic traffic from your search engine optimization efforts.

Paid Exposure
It is easier to understand organic ranking when compared to paid ranking. When you type in a search in Google, the search results often display two sets of links.
One set of links are “sponsored” links. These links are the ones that appear with a blue background on top and on the right hand column of the webpage.
These links are paid for by the advertisers. The more an advertiser pays, the higher the link appears on the search page. Unfortunately, once you stop paying, Google stops advertising your link. This marketing approach is often referred to as "Pay-Per-Click" advertising.
The other set of links are the ones that appear with a white background. These links are what we call organic links. Organic links do not cost the website owner any money. They are ranked by search engines in order of the importance and relevance that is placed on your website based on the search that is performed. If you are serious about your website’s success, your goal should be to optimize your site well enough to see your website ranked as high as possible in the organic ranks.
Of course, nothing trumps optimizing your website for search as well as having a sound pay-per-click strategy in place.
